緣事相之心，對於緣理而言。信非因非果法性之妙理，謂之緣理，信因果報應之事相，謂之緣事。往生要集上末曰：「緣事誓願亦有勝利耶？答：雖不知緣理，此亦有勝利。」 關係吾身之事務。圓覺經曰：「若在伽藍，安處徒眾，有緣事故，隨分思察。」 緣影也。見緣影條。
To lay hold of, or study things or phenomena, in contrast to principles or noumena, cf. 緣理; meditation on the Buddha's nirmāṇakāyaandsaṃbhogakāya, in contrast with thedharmakāya.
信有因果報應的事實，叫做緣事，若信非因非果法性之妙理，則叫做緣理。
