阿蘭若Araṇya之譯。去聚落三百乃至六百步。閑靜而適於比丘等修行之場所也。
A tr. of 阿蘭若 araṇya, i.e. "forest". A retired place, 300 to 600 steps away from human habitation, suitable for the religious practices of monks.
