台家對於別教隔歷之中，而謂圓教圓融之中為妙中。輔行一之三曰：「即此法性名為妙中。」
The profound medium (madhya); the universal life essence, the absolute, thebhūtatathatāwhich expresses the unity of all things, i.e. the doctrine held by Tiantai as distinguished from the 別教 which holds themadhyadoctrine but emphasizes the dichotomy of the 空 transcendental and 假 phenomenal.
