正由過去之業,而受之我心身,謂之正報,為其心身依止之一切世間事物,謂之依報。三藏法數二十七曰:「依謂依報,即世間國土也。為身所依,故名依報。正謂正報,即五陰身也。正由業力,感報此身,故名正報。既有能依之身,即有所依之土,故國土亦名報也。」行願品疏鈔二曰:「依者凡聖所依之國土,若淨若穢。正者凡聖能依之身,謂人天男女,在家出家,外道諸神,菩薩及佛。」
The two forms of karma resulting from one's past; 正報 being the resultant person, 依報 being the dependent condition or environment, e. g. country, family, possessions, etc.
依報與正報。世間國土房屋器具等,為身所依,叫做依報;眾生五蘊假合之身,乃過去造業所感,叫做正報。
