一涅槃際,二生死際,際者界之義。視生死涅槃有別際者,小乘也。大乘則生死即涅槃,本無際畔。見華嚴經一。
The two borders, or states: according to Hīnayāna, nirvana and mortality; according to Mahāyāna the two are one.
一二際 際者際畔。指涅槃際與生死際。小乘認為此二者有別,大乘則言生死即涅槃,二者無異。又指相互對立之兩個極端,例如有與無,生死與涅槃。〔中論之僧叡序〕p353
涅槃際和生死際。際是界的意思,小乘人視生死與涅槃有分界,但大乘人體悟諸法性空,視生死即涅槃,無界限可分。
