大梵天王之異稱也。又總稱色界之諸天。法華經方便品曰：「諸梵王及諸天帝釋。」毘奈耶雜事二十曰：「梵王捧傘，天帝持拂。」見大梵天王條。
Brahmā, cf. 梵天. The father of all living beings; the first person of the Brahminical trimūrti, Brahmā, Viṣṇu, and Śiva, recognized by Buddhism asdevas but as inferior to a Buddha, or enlightened man.
