《Toh 594 (Kangyur)》

The present text, from its title through the dhāraṇī proper, is exactly parallel with the slightly shorter Toh 595, which may have been extracted from it; with the opening of the very short Toh 596, though that text has made a number of emendations, improving on some readings and making others even less smooth and more complicated; and also with Toh 598, which has been significantly edited to improve the difficult readings in the opening narrative. Homage to all buddhas and bodhisattvas. Thus did I hear at one time. The blessed, thus-gone, worthy, perfectly awakened Buddha Amitāyus was staying in the excellent secret palace, Dharma Proclamation, chos yang dag par sdud pa’i phug khang bzangs mchog. The Sanskrit in the closely parallel text edited by Hidas reads dharmasaṃgītimahāguhyaprāsāde (Hidas 2020, p. 152). The Tibetan phrase is awkward, and it seems that there may have been some textual corruption. What has been rendered in Tibetan as phug seems to be guhya in the Sanskrit parallel; perhaps the Tibetan translators were reading guhā—which does translate to phug—rather than guhya.
