外典淨行圍陀Atharvaveda論中有火祠之法。大乘真言門亦有火法。其所以然者，為欲攝伏一類，故以佛之圍陀攝伏之也。見大日經疏十九，同義釋十四。經疏說火法四十四種，其所列者，惟二十七耳。見火神條。
