欲界所屬之有情，思慮最多者，過去戒善之因，感人倫之果，現前之境界是也。俱舍頌疏世品一曰：「言人者，多思慮故名之為人。」大日經一曰：「云何人心？謂思念利他。」大乘義章八末曰：「依涅槃，以多恩義，故名為人。人中父子親戚相憐，名多恩義。」止觀四曰：「作意得報名為人。」
