Yoga [Vedic yoga, see etymology under yuga and yuñjati. Usually m.; plural neuter yogāni occurs at D II 274 in meaning "bonds"] literally "yoking, or being yoked," i.e. connection, bond, means; figurative application, endeavour, device. 1. yoke, yoking (rare?) Ja VI 206 (meant here the yoke of the churning-sticks; cf.
