[The form is probably connected with sama-icchia i.e. sama-itthia (*samatisthita) in the Deśināmamālā VIII 20 (Konow). Compare, however, Rh.D.'s Buddhist Suttas , page 1781; °-aṃ buñjāmi Miln 213; "I eat (only just) to the full" (as opposed to bhiyyo bhuñjāmi) suggests the etymology: sama-titti + ka.
