Sañjati is the Pāli correspondent of sajati 1 (sr̥j), but Sanskrit sañj = sajjati (to hang on, cling), which at Dhātup 67 and 397 defined as saṅga. Dhātup (64) and Dhātum (82) take {670} sañj in all meanings of āliṅgana (= sajati 2 ), vissagga (= sajati 1 ), and nimmāna (= sajjeti). {605}
