Nibkhāyati [Sanskrit ni-(or nir-)vriyate, passive of ni(r)varati, influenced by nirvāyati intransitive to cease to blow; see on etymology and Pāli derivation nibbuta] 1. to be cooled or refreshed, to be covered up = to be extinguished, go out (of fire), to cease to exist, always used with reference to fire or heat or (figurative) burning sensations (see Nibbāna II.
