Lagati and Laggati [with variant laṅgati; the spelling with -gg- is the usual one. Root lag, as in Vedic lakāṣa etc.; Sanskrit lagati, past participle lagna (from the past participle lagga the double g has been generalized in Pāli: but see Geiger, Pāli Grammar §136); perhaps to Latin langueo, English languid, from meaning "to lag," but doubtful: see Walde, Latin Wtb. sub voce langueo. Dhātup 23 gives lag in meaning "saṅga," which is the customary synonym in the commentaries.
