kuṇḍana (to the root of kuṇḍa , q.v. ; but the Skt. Dhātup. assigns to this root the mg. burn as well as mutilate ), prob. mutilation (barely possibly, burning ), in a list of tortures in hell: ŚsP 1461.9 tatra ( sc. nirayeṣu) chedana-bhedana-kuṇḍana- snedana- (! see s.v. )-pacanāny anubhaveyaṃ.
