Koṭṭeti [cf. Sanskrit kuṭ and kuṭṭa 1 . Explained one-sidedly by Dhātup (91 and 556) as "chedane" which is found only in 3 and adhikuṭṭanā. The meaning "beat" is attributed by Dhātup (557) and Dhātum (783) to root kuṭ 3 (see kūṭa 3 ) by explanation "akoṭane."
