Note. °Kil is one of the variations of the sound-imitating qel, which otherwise appears as q a l, q u l in Greek κελ-αδος, L. cal-are, Old High German hell-an (cf. Sanskrit krandati?) also Greek κλάζω, L. clango, Gothic hlahjan ("laugh") and in Sanskrit kolāhala, kokila, cf. cuculus (cuckoo) and perhaps Sanskrit ululī, ulūka (owl), Greek ὀλολύζω, L. ululare.
