Keḷanā (feminine) [from kilissati? or is it kheḷana?] desire, greed, usually shown in fondness for articles of personal adornment: thus "selfishness" Vibh 351 = Sv I 286 (+ paṭikeḷanā). In this passage it is given as a rather doubtful explanation of cāpalla, which would connect it with kṣvel to jump, or khel to swing, oscillate, waver, cf. explanation Dhātup 278 kela kheḷa = calane. Another passage is Nidd II §585, where it is combined with parikeḷanā and acts as synonym of vibhūsanā. {202}
