<b> <c c="#a00149">Indapatta</c> </b> <br>A town in the Kuru country. In the Kurudhamma Jataka <c c="#3b6bd3">J.ii.365f</c> ; also <c c="#3b6bd3">J.iii.400</c> ; <c c="#3b6bd3">J.iv.361</c> ; <c c="#3b6bd3">J.v.457</c> ; <c c="#3b6bd3">J.vi.255</c> ; <c c="#3b6bd3">Cyp.i.3</c> , <c c="#3b6bd3">Cyp.v.1</c> , Dhananjaya Koravya, is mentioned as its king and as the owner of Anjanavasabha, the elephant of wondrous power.<br>The town was seven leagues in extent <c c="#3b6bd3">J.v.57</c> ; <c c="#3b6bd3">J.v.484</c> and there was a road that ran straight from Indapatta to Baranasi <c c="#3b6bd3">J.v.59</c> .<br>In times past, Indapatta was considered one of the three chief cities of Jambudipa, the others being Uttarapancala and Kekaka <c c="#3b6bd3">J.ii.213, 214</c> .<br>According to a verse found at the end of the Buddhavamsa <c c="#3b6bd3">Bu.xxviii.11</c> , the Buddhas razor and needle were enshrined at Indapatta.<br>The modern Delhi stands on the site of Indapatta.<br> <br>Location: <iref href="https://www.google.com/maps/search/28.7038384,77.1041107">28.7038384,77.1041107</iref> (Precision: 1, Type: town)<br> </deftext>
