<b> <c c="#a00149">Giñjakāvasatha</c> </b> <br>A brick hall at Nādikā. The Buddha stayed there on various occasions during his visits to Nādikā. It was during one of these visits that Ambapāli presented her park to the Buddha and the Order. <c c="#3b6bd3">Vin.i.232</c> <br>In the Giñjakāvasatha the Buddha preached the Cūḷagosiṅga Sutta, <c c="#3b6bd3">MN.i.205</c> the Janavasabha Sutta, <c c="#3b6bd3">DN.ii.200</c> and several discourses on awareness of mortality. <c c="#3b6bd3">AN.iii.303f.</c> <c c="#3b6bd3">AN.iii.306f.</c> <c c="#3b6bd3">AN.iii.391f.</c> <c c="#3b6bd3">AN.iv.320f.</c> ; also the sermons to the Elder Sandha of the Kaccānagotta <c c="#3b6bd3">AN.v.322f.</c> and the Elder Kaccāyana. <c c="#3b6bd3">SN.ii.153f.</c> <c c="#3b6bd3">SN.ii.74</c> <c c="#3b6bd3">SN.iv.90</c> <br>Both in the Janavasabha Sutta and the Giñjakāvasatha Sutta, <c c="#3b6bd3">SN.v.356f.</c> which was preached at the same place, the Buddha is represented as having answered questions regarding the destiny and the rebirth of several residents of Nādikā. Does this perhaps mean that the people of Nādikā were more interested in this problem than the people of other places? It was by way of finding a permanent solution to these questions that the Buddha preached to Ānanda at Giñjakāvasatha the “Mirror of Truth” on his last visit to Nādikā, as described in the Mahā Parinibbāna Sutta. <c c="#3b6bd3">DN.ii.91ff.</c> <c c="#3b6bd3">SN.v.357</c> <br>The “Brick Hall” was, however, not designed for the Buddha and his monks alone, for we find mention of members of other sects staying there, e.g., the Paribbājaka Sabhiya Kaccāna. <c c="#3b6bd3">SN.iv.401</c> The building was probably a resting place for all travellers.<br> <br>Location: <iref href="https://www.google.com/maps/search/25.721974,85.284119">25.721974,85.284119</iref> (Precision: 2, Type: building)<br> </deftext>
