Gantha (in B mss often misspelt gandha) [from ganthati] 1. a bond, fetter, trammel; always figurative and usually referring to and enumerated as the four bodily ties, or knots (kāya°, see under kāya): S V 59 = Dhs 1135; D III 230; Nidd I 98; Dhp-a III 276; 4 kāyaganthā, viz., abhijjhā, byāpāda, sīlabbataparāmasa, idaṃsaccābhinivesa; thus Nidd I 98; Vism 683.
