<b> <c c="#a00149">Ambalaṭṭhikā</c> </b> (1) <br>A royal park on the road between Rājagaha and Nāḷandā. It contained a royal rest-house in which the Buddha and members of the Order used to stay in the course of their journeying. It was on one such occasion that the Brahmajāla Sutta was preached. <c c="#3b6bd3">Vin.ii.287</c> <c c="#3b6bd3">DN.i.1</c> <br> It was one of the spots in which the Buddha rested during his last tour, and we are told that while there he discoursed to a large number of monks. <c c="#3b6bd3">DN.ii.81</c> <br> But the most famous of the Buddha’s sermons in Ambalaṭṭhikā seems to have been the Ambalaṭṭhikā-Rāhulovāda Sutta. <c c="#3b6bd3">MN.i.414ff.</c> From the context it appears as though Ambalaṭṭhikā was within walking distance from the Kalandakanivāpa in Rājagaha.<br> <br>Location: <iref href="https://www.google.com/maps/search/25.083111,85.428143">25.083111,85.428143</iref> (Precision: 2, Type: park)<br> <b> <c c="#a00149">Ambalaṭṭhikā</c> </b> (2) <br>A park in the brahmin village Khāṇumata.
