<b> <c c="#a00149">Ajitamāṇava</c> </b> Ajita<br>One of the disciples of Bāvarī who visited the Buddha at the request of their teacher.<br>He was the first to question the Buddha, and the questions asked by him form the Ajitamāṇavapucchā of the Parāyana Vagga of the Sutta Nipāta. <c c="#3b6bd3">Snp.1221–1228</c> <br>A verse attributed to Ajita-māṇava is found in the Theragāthā. <c c="#3b6bd3">Thag.20</c> <br>The Ajita-pucchā are referred to in the Saṃyutta, <c c="#3b6bd3">SN.ii.47f.</c> where they are expounded by the Buddha to Sāriputta.<br> <br> </deftext>
