影之映鏡，響之應谷，譬佛與眾生之感應。
Mirror and gully, reflection and echo, i.e. the response of the buddhas to prayers.
一鏡谷 鏡，鏡像之意，謂影像之映現於鏡中；谷，谷響之意，謂聲響之回應於山谷中。鏡中所現之像，實不可得；谷中之聲響亦非實有。故鏡谷乃譬喻萬法假有而無實體之意。p8390
