又曰密迹金剛，密迹力士，金剛力士，金剛手，執金剛等。總為執金剛杵現大威勢擁護佛法之天神之通稱。大日如來以此金剛眾為內眷屬，以普賢文殊等諸菩薩為大眷屬，猶之釋迦以舍利弗等聲聞眾為內眷屬。其他諸菩薩為大眷屬也。密迹者，常侍佛而憶持佛秘密事之義。又知佛之三密垂迹為神之義。大日經名曰金剛手秘密主。楞嚴經七曰：「一一光明，皆徧示現十恒河沙金剛密迹，擎山持杵徧虛空界。」金光明經鬼神品曰：「金剛密迹大鬼神王，及其眷屬五百徒黨，一切皆是大菩薩等，亦悉擁護聽是經者。」見密迹條。
