毘陀羅法所用之鬼名。菩薩戒疏咸註中曰；「毘陀羅者。西土有咒法。咒死屍令起。謂使鬼去殺人。」文句十下曰：「吉遮起尸鬼。」見毘陀羅及吉遮條。
To resurrect a corpse by demoniacal influence and cause it to kill another person; v. 毘 vetāla; 起死人 is similar, i.e. to raise the newly dead to slay an enemy.
