佛歡喜之日。即七月十五日安居竟之日也。至後世凡十五日謂之歡喜日。
The happy day of the Buddha, and of the order, i.e. that ending the 'retreat', 15th day of the 7th (or 8th) moon; also every 15th day of the month.
一歡喜日 佛歡喜之日。又作佛歡喜日。僧眾於四月十五日至七月十五日之間結夏安居，七月十五日為圓滿日，其間有多人證果，佛歡喜之，故稱為歡喜日。〔盂蘭盆經、盂蘭盆經疏卷下〕p8630
諸佛歡喜的日子，即農曆七月十五日，因此日僧眾結夏安居完畢，人人道業增進，所以諸佛歡喜。
