舊稱曰非時藥。四藥之一，自朝至初更得服之八種漿水也。百一羯磨五曰：「更藥者晝日應飲，如其至夜，但齊初更，律教一夜分為三節。初之一分，名曰初更，過斯不應飲用。若准五更，當一更強半。舊云非時者，非正譯也。」
