Vibyā，譯曰明，真言之別稱。真言能破眾生煩惱之闇障，故名明。演密鈔一曰：「明者明咒，真言之別稱，梵語尾儞也（二合）。此譯云明，破闇為義。梵語漫怚羅，此云真言，或名神咒。謂此真言能破眾生煩惱闇障，義翻為明。」
vibhā, to shine, illuminate, tr, by 明, a name for the Shingon sect 真言 because of its power to dispel the darkness of delusion.
