Utpala，又作烏鉢羅，漚鉢羅，優鉢剌。花名。譯曰青蓮花，黛花，紅蓮花。慧苑音義上曰：「優鉢羅，具正云尼羅烏鉢羅，尼羅（Nila）者此云青。烏鉢羅者花號也，其葉狹長，近下小圓，向上漸尖，佛眼似之經多為喻，其花莖似藕稍有刺也。」玄應音義三曰：「優鉢剌，又作漚鉢羅，此譯云黛花也。」法華玄贊一曰：「優鉢羅者，此云紅蓮花。」大日經疏十五曰：「優鉢羅花，有赤白二色，又有不赤不白者，形如泥盧鉢羅花。」
