佛菩薩之尊稱。佛能為世人之眼，指示正道。又能開世間之眼，使見正道。法華經序品曰：「讚妙光菩薩，汝為世間眼。」又化城喻品曰：「佛為世間眼。」智度論二曰：「佛取涅槃一何疾哉！世間眼滅。」見世眼條。
